The euro from 1 January 2026: what changed on your documents

ood
The ood.bg teamproduct and support

Since 1 January 2026 the euro is Bulgaria's official currency and new invoices are issued in euro. The fixed rate is €1 = BGN 1.95583. Documents issued before that stay in leva and are not reissued.

What changed on invoices?

Amounts on new documents are in euro. Numbering does not restart — you continue the series as before. Mandatory dual price display (leva and euro) continues until 8 August 2026.

What happens to old documents?

Nothing. Invoices and notes issued in leva remain valid in leva. A credit note against an old invoice follows that invoice's amounts — check the specific case with your accountant.

How do I convert price lists?

Divide the BGN price by 1.95583 and round to the cent. In ood.bg a bulk BGN → EUR conversion updates the whole catalogue, and EUR is the default currency since 1 Jan 2026. See goods and prices.

What should a two-currency offer say?

Give the euro amount as the main one and the leva amount for information, with the rate. Example: “€1,180.00 (BGN 2,307.88 at 1.95583)”.

For the switch, see integrations and import or plan prices.
